Jetblack 12hr: Mowbray Farm

Racing into the night under starlight and torches

This weekend gone brought to an end another great season of racing with Rocky Trail Entertainment. It all came to an end with the Jetblack 12hr at Mowbray Farm near Picton. It was also a special year as it was the 10th anniversary of Rocky trails 12hr.

Temperatures were already heading up when the riders took to the trails. The open fields of Mowbray farm didn’t offer much in the way of protection from the sun but a dash of relief was found in the little pine plantations and the ride around the dam. For the next 12 hours riders did laps around the farm on the 7.5km course. The short course meant there was a constant stream of riders coming past Gil and I almost nonstop.

In the end Jason English took line honours on the male solo elites to making it 8 in a row. Gwynn Le Maitre took out her first female solo elites 12hr.

For the first time in the Rocky rail series they ran an E-bike category. There was only 1 rider in the category this.year but you can expect to see a few more somewhere along the line in the coming year as E-bike rises in popularity.

Thanks to all who made this such a great season. From the team here at Outer Image we hope you have a great break and we look forward to seeing you again for another season out on the tracks early next year. Until then keep an eye out for us because we might just jump up in front of you when you least expect it.

Cheers

Richard and Gil
