Last weekend we headed down to the Southern Highlands for the annual Willo Enduro. The Willo is a great race to shoot simply because it is on such a beautiful track. There are certain sections on the track that are just a photographer’s dream.
The Willo is typically held under a blanket of grey cloudy with a slight drizzle in the air. This year didn’t disappoint us either. While that doesn’t sound too tempting it is great for shooting in the forests. Overnight rain had left the track slick and muddy and had a few riders sliding around in the damper sections.
This was our first year covering the event for competitors though Gil and I have shot it over the previous years on an editorial basis. We called up another member of our team and then all headed off into our various sections of the forests. I had the wonderful Nyes creek crossing, a beautiful section of rainforest and ferns.
Normally we would change locations a lot more but since it was only a 3 lap race we just stayed relatively close to our designated areas. Luckily since it is such a beautiful track those areas have an abundance of shots and angles.
